Chocolate Covered Spoons

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Winter has officially arrived in Columbus!  Today is the perfect day to hibernate at home, cozied up by the fire with a big mug of hot cocoa.  Although its back to work for me today, I hope you get to do just that.

I put together hot cocoa kits for my co-workers and included these spoons for stirrers.  I also made Annie's Eats DIY hot cocoa but that went unpictured.

The spoons are very easy to re-create.  You simply melt almond bark, dark chocolate or white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl.  Next up...

Dip the spoons in the chocolate and allow some of the chocolate to settle in the divet of the spoon.

Place dipped spoon on parchment lined baking sheet and decorate as desired.  Great toppings include sprinkles (obviously!), mini chocolate chips, crushed candy canes or heath toffee bits.

Allow chocolate to harden.  Then they're ready for wrapping.  Enjoy and stay warm :)
